“Scarface” Getting A Remake — Al Pacino Approves

Scarface is getting a remake. Universal Studios are tapping Jonathan Herman (Straight Outta Compton) to rewrite the script, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Marty Bregman, who produced the 1983 version, is on board along with Scott Stuber and Dylan Clark for Bluegrass Films and Marc Shmuger for his Global Produce company. Pablo Larrain will serve as the director. The remake will have a similar story except that this time, it’ll center around a Mexican immigrant. Here’s what Al Pacino had to say: “Oh, it’s fine,” “It’s part of what we do. We remake things.”
