The Calbuco volcano erupted Wednesday for the first time in 40 years, spewing clouds of ashes over a sparsely populated mountainous area in southern Chile. A second eruption Wednesday night blasted red hot rocks skyward and produced a display of volcanic lightning. Ash from the first eruption have already spread far to the north and the northeast. Chile has the second largest chain of volcanoes in the world after Indonesia.
